Remember that I will gladly take your TYPED Carnegie outlines this week, but that the official due date is not until A=10/25 & B=10/27. We begin our first geography unit this week. It is on Africa. This week we are working in our atlases, so be sure to find yours and bring it to class. Two maps and an atlas worksheet are due this week. You will need to do 4 current events articles by the end of the unit and have a HUGE map test the end of the month.

Andrew Carnegie- an American hero or not? We will be analyzing documents (primary and secondary) to search for an answer to this question. Group presentations will happen and students will decide for themselves if he was a hero or not. Final project is a properly formatted outline that identifies documents that support their thoughts.

The gold studyguide on Imperialism is due on Mon/Tues. All 8th graders will be taking the Explore test on Wed 9/26- Be sure you have a #2 pencil and a book to read for when you finish each section. Social Studies 9/4-9/7

Welcome to 8th grade social studies! We will be working on the 5 Is of the Gilded Age for the next month. This focuses on connections between people, places, and events of the late 1800s.
HOMEWORK: guardian signed syllabus and the GREEN study guide on Indians & the West
